11 August 2026 put five sealed scenes in front of the world's detectives — the same five for everyone, as always. The day led with The Theatre Royal and climbed to The Botanical Garden on the Expert rung — a 9×9 scene across 8 rooms, with an accomplice lying through every statement, and a motive to prove on top of the name.
40 investigations were opened across the five cases and 14 closed with the right accusation — a 35% conviction rate for the day. 3 cases hid a liar, which is where conviction rates usually go to die: an accomplice's testimony is false from the first word, and finding the lie is the case.
More than one of the day's cases demanded a motive as well as a name — naming the killer without proving the why counts for nothing on those boards.
